In 2021 the same day simulpub with Japan means very few scanlators can get Jump manga out before the official release, so they mostly don't even try. The big 3 were the biggest series on scanlation sites, and it was a race by leakers and scanlators to get chapters up asap for clicks. At the time of the original big 3, we existed in an era where official simulpub didn't exist outside of the month delayed US Shonen Jump for a handful of manga. There's no such thing as a new 'big 3' and never will be for one simple reason. Yes, series like Demon Slayer and Jujutsu Kaisen have a 1-2 year massive spike, but they've not had the sustainability of something like One Piece.Īlso the big 3 was a western term that exclusively existed to discuss OP, Naruto, and Bleach.
